Acquaviva, 365 meters above sea level, on the hills overlooking the Adriatic Sea, offers a pleasant occasion, a few km from the sea (6 km from the coast of San Benedetto), for a walk in the fresh air, among the picturesque lanes, narrow and winding, medieval historic core. Here, the old village, there is a monument symbol of the country, the medieval fortress, a beautiful fortress, a masterpiece of military Marche, dating from the fourteenth century, which has preserved its ancient and majestic beauty. From the top of the keep, the show is enchanting landscape that you can discover with a view of the sea, the hills to the peaks of the Gran Sasso. Acquaviva is also a country that preserves its historical traditions and crafts. Still survives the art of making baskets with wheat straw, the so-called 'pagliarole', typical hand woven baskets. Among the most important should be noted the 'Palio del Duca', medieval reenactment held on the first Friday of August, during which the two districts of the old town, the fortress and the hill, face off in a series of medieval games. In summer, every Wednesday in July and August, the streets of the old town, is held in the evening a picturesque 'Market Association of typicality'.
